Guess The Vet Bill! The New Game Show For Kids!

We went to the vet today. Not only does her bone in her leg look weak and might need more work, but she has impacted sutures or some such nonsense. This dog will get anything. Not once growing up did I have a dog get Giardia. Roxy did.
Not once do I remember my dogs have UTIs. Roxy has had three.
No surgeries, ear infections or skin rashes. Yep, yep, yep.

You could tell me she contracted a rare form of grape soda disease and I would be like, well, let's see if the bill breaks your record.

The girl charging me at the vet, after x-rays, an exam and punctures and fluid extraction to her leg, winced when she said "$270."

I was like oh dear child, do not fret, for we have spent many more dollars than this at the vet.

So she has a rockin' bandage and ate some dental chews because I felt bad for her. I have to go take the bandage off and put on her E-collar so she won't eat her open suture wound.

She goes in next Sunday to see the surgeon. Polls close Saturday at Midnight!

Amputation is the answer.

What is up with the sick dogs? My boss' dog, Katie, is dying of cancer and apparently Roxy's leg is dying of... surgeries?

At this point I'm ready for her to have three legs. Roxy Roaring Corgi Tripod Boyle. Because holy shitballs (and that is a technical term for my mental state) I am tired of her surgeries and medical expenses.

She recently had her third surgery.

ONE.
TWO.
THREE.

And the vet is like her best friend. We have a certifiable dog pharmacy here at home and we joke that we feed her $20 bills because she costs so much. Just the last few days she has starting favoring that leg again. THAT JUST HAD SURGERY 6 WEEKS AGO.

I was trying to check to see if it was some sort of soft tissue problem, aside from her normal problems, and when I was moving her leg around she started wailing and crying. Turns out if you push right where the incision was, it hurt like a bitch. Apparently.

So I pumped her full of pain meds like the good mom I am and sent her on her way.

<shakes head> <sticks out hand seeking change> I'm starting a fund.

BTW, I totally love that picture of her because she is like OMG SQUEEZE ONTO PILLOW. WILL FIT!

Meanwhile she doesn't know she is fat.

Crazy Dog Journal #12

Sometimes I like to lay on TOP of my crate and stare longingly out the window. That is of course while the people are home. When they are gone I like to snuggle on top of the couch where it's nice and comfy. I have made a small but permanent indention in the couch cushion I prefer. <yawn>

That terrible dog left us for a few days and I was so happy.
Then, she came back and I was not happy.
Then I saw that she had a stitched up leg with shaved hair.
AND SHE LOOKED SO STUPID!

AH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! <gasp!><bark!>
