I don't always dress up my dogs, but when I do, they hate it.
I have several Halloween costumes for the dogs. They don't get a new one every year though because, let's be honest, they aren't exactly social enough to go trick-or-treating. Thus, they have no need to have new duds each year.
But this year I saw dinosaur costumes on Amazon. The Stegosaurus one was on a corgi. How could I not buy that?! Thing is, there NO WAY that costume fit that corgi in the picture without major overhaul. Roxy couldn't even move her legs when I put it on her. I got her the large size. What the hell? She's only 24 pounds. What size does a golden retriever wear?!
Good thing I got in all that practice sewing up toys that Crazy Dog murders. I was able to completely remove the rear legs and fix some areas so they would fit her. By the fourth fitting, Roxy was hiding under furniture to get away.
Obviously, she loves this.
Naturally, Crazy Dog needed a coordinating outfit.
I bought him a Velociraptor. Never was there a situation where costume imitated life more than this one.
And let me tell you, Crazy Dog is SO EXCITED TO PUT THINGS ON! Until he puts them on. Roxy never confuses her emotions in this way.
But why are you here if not to SEE these amazing costumes?
RAR!!
This one is my fave:
He is like, I CAN HAZ COSTUME 4EVR?
Notice above how I have to cuff the legs because their appendages are so teeny.
Aaand, the corgi!
Here, where she is slightly happier. Slightly.
This is how she really feels:
After this, I took the costumes off and ended the photo shoot. I will let you know that Crazy Dog likes to take any opportunity to hump Roxy when she is incapacitated. This was no exception. I didn't catch any photos or video of that. I know. You are depressed now. Next time!
And just so you can see that she looks like a Stegosaurus EVEN WHEN WALKING, I present this to you:
